Red Sox plan Marathon tribute before Sunday’s game

The Red Sox will hold a pregame ceremony on Sunday to pay tribute to those affected by the Boston Marathon bombings. It will start at 6:30 p.m. before the 7:05 game against the Orioles.

The ceremony will include a remembrance of Krystle Campbell, Sean Collier, Lingzi Lu, and Martin Richard.

The University of Massachusetts Marching Band and the Boston Pipers Society will perform “Highland Cathedral” and the national anthem. Members of the Boston Police Department, Watertown Police Department, and Massachusetts State Police will carry the colors.

A series of canvases bearing inscriptions of good will from all 50 states, 29 other major league teams and members of Congress will line the warning track.

The Red Sox also will honor the civic and business leaders who quickly and successfully started the One Fund Boston.

On Monday, the Red Sox will wear “Boston” jerseys for the Patriots Day game against the Orioles. That practice, which started last year, will continue on in years to come.
