NBA playoffs preview: Washburn’s take

For the first time in years, there is no prohibitive favorite to win the NBA title.

The defending champion Miami Heat lost 28 games and the health of Dwyane Wade remains in question.


It is not the San Antonio Spurs, who streaked to the NBA’s best record.

And it isn’t the early-season vogue pick of the Indiana Pacers, who in the last month were as dysfunctional as a reality show.
