Welcome to the rivalry: Tanaka signed a seven-year, $155 million deal with the Yankees in January. The Yankees also paid a $20 million posting fee to obtain his rights from the Rakuten Golden Eagles of the Japanese Pacific League. Tanaka was 99-35 with a 2.30 ERA in seven seasons in Japan. The 25-year-old made his debut at the age of 18. Tanaka was 24-0, 1.27 last season.
