Baseball Top 20

With an undefeated season under its belt, Bridgewater-Raynham remains on top of the Eastern Mass. Top 20, but Peabody (9-0) has surged up the rankings from its preseason slot at No. 7. With a 6-0 record, Newton North has also jumped up the rankings, finding itself in the No. 3 spot thanks to a big win at Braintree on April 19. At No. 5, North Attleboro rounds out the undefeated Division 1 teams, with No. 8 Masconomet still without a loss in Division 2.

St. John’s Prep comes in at No. 4 at 6-1 as new coach Dan Letarte’s has kept the Eagles whirring at the pace where former coach of 33 years Pat Yanchus retired last June. Lincoln-Sudbury is right on the Prep’s heals thanks to six-straight wins after falling to the Trojans

Division 4 Pope John Paul II is hanging around on the edge of Super 8 contention with an undefeated record of its own and an offense that has scored better than 16 runs a game.

Also new to the Top 20 is Oliver Ames, Lynn English, Gloucester, Bishop Feehan, Hamiltown-Wenahm and Malden Catholic. Despite their three early season losses, the Lancers have a strong Catholic Conference schedule that will provide opportunities for Malden Catholic to rise up the rankings and make a play at the Super 8.
