The Sox are 14-29 against the Rangers over the last five seasons and 6-16 at Texas . . . The Sox play 11 of their next 17 games on the road. They are 7-6 away from Fenway so far . . . The righthander has so far had two distinct seasons. He had an 0.82 ERA in his first three starts and a 5.74 in his last three, giving up 10 runs on 21 hits over 15 innings . . . Koji Uehara, who once pitched for Texas, has four scoreless innings in his last four appearances and had struck out five . . . The Red Sox are hoping Junichi Tazawa had his issues solved. His last four appearances — 4 innings, 8 hits, 5 earned runs — were ugly . . . Dustin Pedroia is 27 of 86 (.314) since missing two games with a sore left wrist.
