Fresh off capturing its sixth state title, Medfield finishes the year atop the Globe boys’ lacrosse Top 20.
But don’t be fooled by the Division 2 tag. Playing a schedule that featured five top 10 opponents and two out-of-state powerhouses, the Warriors still lost only twice and managed to hold every one of their 25 opponents under 10 goals (only Duxbury can say the same).
Acton-Boxboro, which captured its first Division 1 title, checks in at No. 2, with runner-up Duxbury, Xaverian, and Lincoln-Sudbury rounding out the top five. Cohasset moves up to No. 6 after winning its fourth Division 3 title since 2006.
Losing five of its final eight regular-season games, Beverly crashed out of the Top 20. However, a stellar run to the Division 2 semifinals earns the Panthers the No. 14 spot.
Hamilton-Wenham and Marblehead are the other two new entries, coming in at No. 17 and No. 20. The Generals surprised folks by making a surprise semifinal run in Division 3 Coach of the Year Josh Wedge’s first season at the helm, while the Magicians made the Division 2 North sectional finals after nearly missing out on the postseason entirely.
