Bruins open 2014-15 season vs. Flyers

The Bruins will open the 2014-15 season against the Philadelphia Flyers Oct. 8 at TD Garden, and travel to Montreal Oct. 16 to face the Canadiens for the first time since their Eastern Conference semifinal series in May.

The NHL announced its 2014-15 schedule Sunday, and the Bruins will have two four-game homestands, Nov. 1-10 and Feb. 28-March 8.

The season’s longest road trip is Feb. 13-22, with games in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, St. Louis, and Chicago.

The Bruins face the Stanley Cup champion Kings Dec. 2 (away) and Jan. 31 (home). The regular season ends April 11 at Tampa Bay.
