Revolution loan Jerry Bengtson to Argentinian team

The New England Revolution announced Friday it has loaned forward Jerry Bengtson to Belgrano of Argentina’s Primera Division for one year. The loan will run through June 30, 2015.

Bengtson recently returned to the Revolution after spending the Major League Soccer World Cup break playing in Brazil for the Honduras national team. The forward started every game for Honduras before the team was eliminated during group play, going 0-0-3 in the tournament.

He was also a member of Honduras’ 2012 Olympic team in London and finished as the second leading scorer at the Games.

Bengtson joined the Revolution in 2012 as a designated player from Honduras club CD Motagua. He started in 23 of his 36 appearances for New England, and scored four goals.
