Stat of the Day: Sunday’s win snapped a seven-game stretch without a one-run decision for the Sox. They have played in 40 one-run games and are .500 in them.

Notes: The Red Sox bookended a seven-game road trip with wins, including a 3-2 win over the Rays on Sunday in St. Petersburg. The Sox were outscored 32-14 in the final six games of the trip after beating the Blue Jays 14-1 a week ago. … On the seven-game road trip, David Ortiz was 8 of 28 with two doubles, 12 RBIs and five home runs, including the difference-maker in Sunday’s win. He has 25 homers and 76 RBIs on the season. … In his first appearance for the Sox this season, Allen Webster allowed two runs on three hits over 5⅓innings on Sunday. He walked five and struck out four, and only 42 of his 86 pitches were strikes. … Clay Buchholz’s last outing was a loss to the Blue Jays last week. He gave up six hits, five runs (four earned), walked four and struck out only one. He is 7-9 this season with a 5.50 ERA in 91.2 innings pitched. … R.A. Dickey was on the winning side of Buchholz’s loss last week, earning the victory after throwing six innings. He gave up nine hits, four runs (all earned) and struck out five. He is 2-0 against the Red Sox this season. … Xander Bogaerts was benched Sunday and has hit .146 and committed nine errors in his last 40 games. … Brock Holt has one hit in his last 20 at-bats. Before the mini-drought, Holt was 16-34 with three RBIs and a home run in seven games from July 11-21. … Shane Victorino went without a hit Sunday after going six consecutive games with a hit.
