Celtics announce 2014 preseason schedule

The Celtics announced their eight-game 2014 preseason schedule Tuesday, and it again features games all over New England as well as one in Canada.

Boston’s preseason slate tips off Oct. 6 when the Celtics play host to the Philadelphia 76ers at TD Garden. They then face the New York Knicks on Oct. 8 at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn., before traveling to the Air Canada Centre in Toronto to face the Raptors on Oct. 10.

The Celtics will also play preseason games at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., and at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine, the Celtics’ first game in Portland in 20 years.

All the Celtics’ preseason games will be broadcast on Comcast Sportsnet New England. Tickets for preseason games will go on sale later in August, the team said.
