    EAST REGIONAL

    at Providence

    No. 1 Harvard (26-5-2) vs. No. 4 Providence (22-11-5), 4 p.m., ESPNU

    Harvard has a 14-game winning streak . . . The Crimson haven’t lost since Jan. 17 to Dartmouth . . . Harvard has won a Beanpot and the ECAC tournament since then . . . The Friars are making their fourth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament . . . This is the first time Providence and Harvard have met in the tournament.

    No. 2 Western Michigan (22-12-5) vs. No. 3 Air Force (26-9-5), 7:30 p.m.

    This is Western Michigan’s sixth appearance in the tournament but the Broncos have yet to win a game . . . The teams met twice this season, with Western Michigan winning one game and the other ending in a tie . . . Fresh off the Atlantic Tournament championship, Air Force is making its sixth NCAA appearance in 11 years.

    WEST REGIONAL

    at Fargo, N.D.

    No. 2 BU (23-11-3) vs. No. 3 North Dakota (21-15-3), 3 p.m., ESPN2

    The Terriers qualified for their third straight NCAA Tournament and their 35th overall . . . The last time BU played North Dakota was in the 2015 Frozen Four; BU won that game, 5-3 . . . Defending national champion North Dakota is 12-10-2 all-time against BU . . . North Dakota finished the season on a 5-1 run but lost to Minnesota-Duluth in the NCHC Championship . . . This is North Dakota’s 15th consecutive trip to the tournament.

    No. 1 Minnesota-Duluth (25-6-7) vs. No. 4 Ohio State (21-11-6), 6:30 p.m., ESPNU

    This is the first meeting between the teams since 2013 . . . Ohio State is making its first tournament appearance since 2009, its seventh since 1998 . . . The Buckeyes are 2-4-1 all-time vs. Minnesota-Duluth.

    SATURDAY’S GAMES

    NORTHEAST REGIONAL

    at Manchester, N.H.

    No. 1 Minnesota (23-11-3) vs. 4. Notre Dame (21-11-5), 3:30 p.m., ESPNU

    This is Minnesota’s 37th appearance in the tournament . . . Minnesota has won the Big Ten regular-season championship six straight times . . . The Irish won a share of the Hockey East regular-season title in their last season as a member of the conference . . . The Irish reached the Frozen Four in 2008 and 2011.

    No. 2 UMass-Lowell (26-10-3) vs. No. 3 Cornell (21-8-5), noon

    The River Hawks are making their fifth tournament appearence in six years . . . UMass-Lowell is fresh off the Hockey East tournament championship and hopes to make the Frozen Four for the second time in school history . . . The Big Red fell to Harvard in the ECAC championship . . . Cornell is making its 20th tournament appearance.

    MIDWEST REGIONAL

    at Cincinnati

    No. 1 Denver (29-7-4) vs. No. 4 Michigan Tech (23-14-7), 1 p.m., ESPNews

    This is Denver’s 27th trip to the tournament . . . The Pioneers are 118-83-19 all-time vs. former WCHA rival Michigan Tech, including a victory in the NCAAs . . . Fresh off a WCHA tournament championship, Michigan Tech is making its 12th trip to the tournament . . . The Huskies have won three national titles.

    No. 2 Union (25-9-3) vs. No. 3 Penn State (24-11-2), 4:30 p.m.

    Union is back in the tournament for the sixth time . . . The Dutchmen are 4-0-0 against Penn State, with the last meeting coming in the 2013-14 season . . . The Nittany Lions are making their first appearance in the NCAAs . . . Penn State is coming off a Big Ten tournament championship.
