Girls’ players to watch

Hayley Dowd, Peabody – The future BC Eagle was last season’s Division 1 Player of the Year as a junior, netting 41 goals and 19 assists.

Lauren Berman, Canton – As a junior, Berman carried the Bulldogs (19-2-2) to the Division 2 state title game. She scored 33 goals and dished out 11 assists, earning Hockomock MVP honors and a scholarship to play for Maryland.


Andrea O’Brien, Concord-Carlisle – As a junior, O’Brien recorded 37 goals and 10 assists and earned All-America honors. She’ll team up with Dowd at BC next season.

Kendall Andrew, Oliver Ames – Andrew, a future Providence College Friar, made the Tigers’ offense go last season. As a junior, the midfielder netted 14 goals and four assists. 

Mimi Borkan, Medfield – The Tri-Valley League’s most valuable goalie is back for her senior season for the Warriors, who went 16-1-4 last season. Borkan, who is committed to UNH, allowed nine goals in 21 games (0.43 goals against average). — SETH LAKSO
