Madison Park’s chances Friday against Lexington looked as grim as the weather. Star junior midfielder Edmilson Barros was forced to sit out after he received a red card in the Cardinals’ city championship win over Boston International on Thursday.

Despite Barros’s absence, though, the Cardinals beat the visiting Minutemen, 1-0, in the first round of the MIAA Division 1 North boys’ soccer tournament.
