Division 4A-5 roundup: Cathedral sprints to win

Cathedral, led by quarterback Kejonte Hickman, continued its torrid play, beating Marian, 38-12, on Thursday.

The Panthers wasted little time, scoring 31 points in the opening frame. Hickman was the catalyst in the quarter, throwing three touchdown passes to three receivers.

Cathedral, which started the season 2-2, has reeled off seven consecutive wins thanks to a defense that has allowed more than 16 points only once in that span.

The defense, powered by seniors Derek Welcome and Mohammed Braimah, have a knack for getting to the quarterback. Braimah, who had two sacks in the league-clinching win over Pope John last week, contributed four sacks in the win over Marian.
