Boys’ basketball players of the week

Mike Gelineau, Waltham — In a 78-55 win over Westford, the senior scored his 1,000th career point and two nights later scored 31 to pass Billy Judkins (1,037 points) as the Hawks’ all-time leading scorer. He has 1,047 points.

Drew Belcher, Reading — In a 58-50 win over Belmont, the junior center scored 28 points, including two 3-pointers, and added 12 rebounds for the Rockets. He scored 21 points as Reading beat Woburn to finish in a tie for the Middlesex Liberty crown.

Justin Mount, Westford — The Gray Ghosts won a share of the DCL Large title, beating Lincoln-Sudbury, 66-55, thanks in part to Mount’s 22 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals.


Shane Farley, Burlington — The Middlesex League’s leading scorer recorded a school-record 50 points in a 76-70 win over Wilmington.

Daivon Edwards, Brighton — In a loss to Dorchester, Edwards was the bright spot, nailing a 3-pointer to hit 1,000 career points.

Ryan Gallagher, Newton North — In a win over Norwood, the senior manager suits up for senior night and drains a long three on his first shot of the game.

Namir Islamovic and Kenny Howse, Northeast — In a win over Fellowship Christian, Islamovic improved on his 21 ppg average with 27 points and Howse added 22.
