Patriots get their message across on draft night

The Patriots want to remind everybody they don’t have a first-round draft pick.

To do so, they shared a captionless photo of Tom Brady across their social media accounts just as the NFL Draft started Thursday night.

The meaning seems to be twofold. They are firm in their support of their quarterback through the Deflategate case, which is the reason they don’t have a first-round pick, and they have a nose for finding quality picks in the later rounds. Brady was taken with a compensatory pick — No. 199 — in the sixth round in 2000.

The team changed its Twitter avatar and Facebook profile picture to the photo of TB12 and shared the photo on Instagram.
