Bryan Stork was back — temporarily.
The third-year center, whom the Patriots traded to the Redskins last week for a seventh-round draft pick, failed his physical in Washington Monday morning, according to an ESPN980 report. So the trade was nullified, Stork was sent back to New England, then he was released by the Patriots Monday.
Stork, who suffered his fourth concussion in four years early in camp this summer, had reportedly been considering retirement after the trade. He ended that speculation Sunday when he tweeted that he was set to report to the Redskins.
Second-year player David Andrews won the starting job over Stork in a very closely contested battle through camp. Stork's most memorable moment of camp came when he was tossed from a joint practice after a shoving match with several Bears.

Originally a fourth-round pick out of Florida State in 2014, Stork eventually won the starter's job and played every snap of New England's 28-24 win over Seattle in Super Bowl XLIX.
