Ah, yes, Rex Ryan, the fun-loving coach of the Buffalo Bills, is back at it, trying to drum up laughs.
Patriots receiver Julian Edelman was on a conference call Wednesday with Buffalo media when Ryan walked by the reporters. He leaned in over the speaker phone and fired off a question. Only he claimed to be “Walt Patulski from The Buffalo News.” (Patulski, of course, is the former Notre Dame All-American defensive end who played for the Bills.)
“Are you playing quarterback this week?”
“Huh?” Edelman responded.
“Are you playing quarterback this week?”
Edelman, who can be a bit of a jokester himself, didn’t miss a beat.

“Well, I’m going to do whatever the coaches ask me to do,” he said, “so if they ask me to go out and give a glass of water to someone on the sideline, I’m going to do that with a smile on my face to help our team win, so . . . you’ll have to ask coach that one.”

“All right, Julian, I will, buddy,” Ryan responded before chuckling and walking off.
