First is the restaurant critic and food reporter for the Globe. Prior to that, she was an editor in the Globe's Living/Arts department and a regular contributor to the Cheap Eats and Sauce columns. First attended Grinnell College in Iowa and grew up in New York. She currently lives in Boston.
