Gartland has worked the Assignment Desk through Super Bowls, World Series, presidential campaigns and stories of note around the world. Previously a staff photographer, he has covered everything from busing to the Berlin Wall, and was a member of the Boston American Herald team that won the Pulitzer Prize for Blizzard of ‘78 coverage.
