George Martins, a copy editor and page designer, joined the news desk at the Globe in 2009 after an eight-year stint as a copy editor/page designer in the sports department. He edits foreign, national, local, and business news, and designs the obituary pages that appear in the paper on Mondays and Tuesdays.
