State Police recover body of man from Charles River first seen near Mass. Ave. bridge

State Police today recovered the body of a man from the Charles River.

The body was first spotted in the middle of the Charles near the Massachusetts Avenue bridge around 8 a.m. today by a Boston University rowing coach, according to State Police.

The department’s Marine Unit recovered the body around 9:30 a.m. today.

The man is currently unidentified and cause of death is pending an autopsy by the state medical examiner’s office, State Police said.
