Obama to appeal to Republicans on immigration

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama will try to ratchet up pressure on House Republicans this week to pass legislation overhauling the nation’s immigration laws.

Obama will do interviews from the White House Tuesday with Spanish language television stations from Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles and New York. The White House says the president will argue that immigration reform is in line with the nation’s values and in the country’s economic interests.
