Emu on the loose in Bow, N.H.

Authorities are looking for the owner of an emu that has been spotted wandering around Bow, N.H., police said.

Police have received about four calls this weekend from people who have reported seeing the emu, said Tricia Currier, dispatch supervisor for the Bow Police Department.

The large bird appears friendly and even walked right up to an officer.

Police think the bird may have escaped from a local farm, and are hoping to track down the owner so they can capture it, Currier said.

Police have contacted several farmers, but so far have been unsuccessful in locating its owner.
