A man was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries after a shooting in Dorchester Tuesday, police said.

The victim was shot around 4:30 p.m. on Mercier Avenue near the Ashmont MBTA stop, according to Officer James Kenneally, a Boston police spokesman.

Police have made no arrests so far and the shooting is still under investigation, Kenneally said.
