Bravo to Globe photographer David L. Ryan, whose July 30 Metro photo of the hotel sign installation perfectly captured our distress during this unbearable heat wave. It’s not just about Ryan’s being in the right place at the right time. It’s his having the well-honed instincts of a professional newspaper photographer to take this incredible photo.
