A man who was working on a roof in Revere suffered “significant” burns Tuesday when a pickup truck parked up against the building caught fire, a fire official said.
Revere Fire Chief Christopher Bright said the department received a call of a pickup truck fire around 8:30 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, companies discovered the truck fully engulfed in flame, Bright said. The man was treated on the scene before being transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital, Bright said.
Bright said the cause of the fire has been determined to be improper use of a heat source on a flammable surface.

The fire extended from the truck to the exterior of the building but did not reach inside, according to Bright. The truck fire was put out at the scene, Bright said.
Bright said he was unsure how the fire started and the investigation into the fire is ongoing.
