Coming soon: Bar Enza will replace Benedetto at Cambridge’s Charles Hotel (1 Bennett St.), a collaboration between the Lyons Group (Scampo, Sonsie) and Mark Ladner. This is big: Ladner was executive chef at New York City’s Del Posto and was named Best Chef: New York City at the James Beard awards in 2015. Del Posto, a Mario Batali flagship, earned four stars from The New York Times in 2010.
Ladner is originally from Belmont and began his career working with Todd English at Charlestown’s Olives. According to an e-mail from a rep, Bar Enza will be an “elevated Italian dining destination that will be known for the finest quality sourced proteins, handmade pastas, and farm-fresh vegetable dishes.” Look for it come September. Benedetto opened in 2016, led by Giulia’s Michael Pagliarini. It closed in April.
Closings: Somerville burger staple R.F. O’Sullivan’s (282 Beacon St.) has signed off with a message to customers: “It is with a heavy heart that as of May 25, 2021, we will be moving on from our Somerville location. Since January of 2020, I received an offer on the property that I could not refuse,” wrote owner Richard “Sully” Sullivan. His Lynn location will continue, and he promises that another venture is in the works.
Openings: Trifecta is open at the Four Seasons One Dalton Street in the Back Bay, serving luxury bites like caviar-topped lobster rolls and charcuterie with foie gras. Cocktails are inspired by city milestones and landmarks, like the Arabesque, a bubbly nod to the Boston Ballet.
In the Seaport, love&flour (100 Seaport Blvd.) opens on Saturday, May 29, serving macarons, cookies, and cupcakes in fun flavors like strawberry lemonade. Madras Dosa Co. is opening in June (55 Boston Wharf Road), serving 30 different types of dosa, from chili cheese to Nutella. Visit daily from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. And MarketStreet Lynnfield welcomes a third branch of OkiPoké (1205 Market St.), specializing in speedily served poke bowls.
