Five major candidates are running in Tuesday’s historic election to become Boston’s next mayor.

The top two from the preliminary election on Sept. 14 will move on to compete in the Nov. 2 general election, which will finally decide who will lead the city.

Each of the candidates has their own vision for Boston’s future. Here’s a breakdown of what they’re promising on five big issues affecting the city today.
