One man dead, another wounded in double shooting in Brockton

One man was killed and another man wounded during an early morning shooting Tuesday that left the two victims lying next to their car that had come to a stop in the middle of a Brockton street, officials said.

The names of the victims were not immediately available. In a statement, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz’s office said officers responded around 1:36 a.m. near 69 Tremont St. where they found the men lying in the street next to a 2007 Mazda3.

“One victim, 36 years-old, was suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. He was transported to Brockton Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:28 a.m.,’' prosecutors said. “A second male victim, 38 years-old, was suffering from gunshot wounds to the leg and torso. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he is being treated.”

A third person inside the sedan was uninjured, prosecutors said.

The homicide is under investigation by Brockton police and State Police assigned to Cruz’s office, which is overseeing the case.

No arrests have been reported.
