A water main break near Copley Square has sent water rushing into streets Wednesday evening, according to Boston police.
Crews from the Boston Water and Sewer Commission are repairing the water main at Huntington Avenue and Harcourt Street, and there weren’t water service interruptions, the commission said in a tweet at 8:11 p.m.
Traffic is being redirected on Huntington Avenue between West Newton Street and Harcourt Street, the commission said.
A spokesperson for the commission could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday night.
The break was reported on Huntington Avenue shortly after 5:15 p.m., the department said.
Officers arrived to find water shooting out of the ground, forcing the closure of nearby streets, according to police.
