Here’s who Maura Healey has picked to fill her Cabinet

Governor Maura Healey has announced several Cabinet hires, filling senior positions for the executive branch.

Here is who she has hired so far:

Secretary of the Executive Office for Administration and Finance: University of Massachusetts finance administrator Matthew Gorzkowicz.

Education secretary: Former Lynn schools superintendent Patrick Tutwiler.

Transportation secretary: Gina Fiandaca, who ran Boston’s transportation department before moving to Texas to oversee mobility for the city of Austin.

Climate chief: Melissa Hoffer, the principal deputy general counsel at the Environmental Protection Agency, who will now be the state’s first Cabinet-level climate chief.

Energy and environmental affairs secretary: Rebecca Tepper of the energy and environment bureau at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.

Secretary of the Executive Office of Economic Development: Yvonne Hao, co-founder, advisor, and managing director at investment firm Cove Hill Partners and a partner at Pillar Ventures.

Secretary of the Executive Office of Technology Services and Security: Jason Snyder, chief technology officer at Harvard University.

Public safety and security secretary: Terrence Reidy, who stays on in a role that he filled under now-former governor Charlie Baker.

Labor and workforce development secretary: Lauren Jones, executive vice president of the Massachusetts Business Roundtable.

Secretary of the Executive Office of Health and Human Services: Kate Walsh, Boston Medical Center CEO.

Secretary of Veterans’ Services: Representative Dr. Jon Santiago, a major in the US Army Reserve and an emergency room doctor at Boston Medical Center, where he worked long hours during the height of the COVID pandemic, even as he unsuccessfully campaigned for mayor of Boston and continued working at the State House as a legislator.

Head of the Department of Energy Resources: Elizabeth Mahony, former senior policy advisor for energy under Healey when she was attorney general.

Healey has also pledged to add a dedicated secretary of Housing to her Cabinet and has not yet filled that seat.
