A cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries when she was hit by a vehicle in Dorchester Friday, police said.
The woman was rushed to a local hospital after being hit at 9:42 a.m., police said.
Shortly before 11 a.m., police closed Dorchester Avenue from 1208 Dorchester Ave. to Hancock Street while officers investigate.
Traffic Advisory: Due to a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle with life threatening injuries, the area of 1200 Dorchester Avenue and Hancock Street will be closed until further notice. Please seek an alternative route.

The streets have since reopened, according to police.
As of early Friday evening, the woman’s injuries were still considered critical, said Sergeant Detective John Boyle, the chief spokesman for Boston police.
Everyone involved in the crash made themselves known to police and stayed at the scene, he said.
