Man and his dog attacked on walk in Burlington; cyclist sought, police say

Police are investigating a report of a violent attack on a man and his dog Tuesday in Burlington and are searching for a cyclist who was allegedly involved, authorities said.

The attack occurred around 9:30 a.m. near Mill Pond Reservoir, police said in a statement.

“Investigators are looking to identify the individual involved described as a white male, athletic build, approximately 30 years of age, riding a black mountain bike and accompanied by two dogs,” police said.

One of the cyclist’s dogs was described as a beagle mix, police said. No description was provided for his other dog.

Police did not provide more details about the reported attack.
