Man suffers life-threatening injuries in Brockton shooting

A man was shot in Brockton on Tuesday and hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The victim was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton and later was flown to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where he remains for treatment, Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz said in a statement released Wednesday.

Shortly after 6 p.m., Brocken police responded to a shooting near 28 Lexington St. and Green Street, the statement said.

Police found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Cruz’s office said.

An investigation by Brockton police and State Police is ongoing.
