Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz is scheduled to be in Boston on Wednesday morning to deliver remarks at the International Association of Fire Fighters convention, the Globe has learned.
This will be Walz’s second visit to Boston in two weeks. He previously attended a fundraising event in the Back Bay on Aug. 14.
Walz, the governor of Minnesota, was a union member when he worked as a public school teacher before entering politics. He officially became the Democratic Party’s vice presidential nominee last week during the Democratic National Convention, following his selection by Vice President Kamala Harris as her running mate.
Walz is not the only campaign figure to visit Massachusetts frequently in recent weeks. Since late July, Harris has raised funds during two separate trips to Provincetown and the Berkshires, while Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff headlined fundraising events on both Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

The firefighters’ convention will be held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in the Seaport. His time in Boston might be short. He is scheduled to appear with Harris in Georgia later in the day.
