Tara Sullivan is a general sports columnist whose unique perspective means she doesn't just cover the sport, but the people. After working in the New York market for more than 25 years, Tara brought her voice to the Globe in 2018. An award-winning columnist with multiple recognitions by the Associated Press Sports Editors, Tara has covered every major sports event on the calendar, including but not limited to the Olympics, Super Bowls, World Series, NBA and NHL Finals, the Masters, the U.S. Open (both golf and tennis), and NCAA Final Fours (both men and women). She will take on the issues that matter most, from personal stories of triumph to inspiring stories of activism. Tara worked previously at The Bergen (N.J.) Record, where she covered beats for the Giants, the Mets and Rutgers and Seton Hall football and basketball, as well as the N.Y. Daily News and N.Y. Newsday. She is a graduate of Rutgers College, where her career began at the fully incorporated, student-run Daily Targum, the second-oldest college daily newspaper in the country.
