Cynthia Needham

Cynthia Needham is the Senior Assistant Managing Editor overseeing the Express Desk, the Boston Globe’s digital news arm. She directs and coordinates breaking news with a web-first focus, while also overseeing the homepage. Cynthia joined the Globe in 2010 and spent five years as political editor, managing coverage of Massachusetts politics. She later became an editor on the Business desk, focusing on consumer issues and Boston’s power players. Prior to joining the Globe, she worked as a political reporter for The Providence Journal. She graduated from Bowdoin College and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
