Heather Ciras leads digital storytelling and engagement for the Globe newsroom. She marries journalism, audience engagement, data analysis, and technology to serve readers. Previously, Heather led the newsroom’s first audience engagement team. She started at the Globe in 2012 as a part-time, overnight web producer.
Heather is a graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. Projects and initiatives she led have garnered an Edward R. Murrow award for Excellence in Social Media, and several Online Journalism Awards. She was the lead digital strategist for “Blind Spot,” which won a Pulitzer Prize in 2021.
