Boston's club scene, one party at a time

James Coletta

Wednesdays, 10 p.m. Splash, 150 Kneeland St., Boston. No cover. 617-426-6397,

The deal: Don’t let the name fool you. Wednesdays at this ultra-lounge on the edge of the Leather District are quite low-key. Cool lighting, black leather couches, and a snazzy roof deck (shuttered already for the winter) make it a comfortable place to take in some Top 40 and gear up for the rest of the week. Bonus: Food (burgers, mostly) is served until 2 a.m.

The DJ: Resident DJ Dirty Dek (pictured) spins commercial house and Top 40. The temporary loss of the roof deck - and no dance floor - doesn’t stop some from dancing right at their tables.

Who goes there: A mixed crowd of laid-back fashion-conscious types in their 20s and 30s.

3 Songs You Might Hear: Avicii, “Levels’’; Jay-Z and Kanye West, “Otis’’; Calvin Harris, “Awooga.’’

The drink: Champagne is a popular choice.

The tip: “Definitely call earlier if you hope to reserve a table,’’ said Splash general manager Amalia Korom.
