CAT MOUNTAIN In Behind the Mask’s production, a young servant girl goes to a strange and faraway mountain to find her freedom and lost cat. The folks she meets on the way warn her that no one returns from Cat Mountain. The folk tale features puppetry, dance, masks, and Japanese theater styles. THE WIZARD OF OZ L. Frank Baum’s “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,’’ published in 1900, gave us a new kind of children’s book of adventures from a child’s perspective.
