Critic’s corner: What’s on TV tonight

Last Dates Before I Do 10 p.m., CMT

In this week’s “What’s the world coming to?’’ files is this series from the country music network. Weeks before their scheduled wedding, Catherine and Evan decide to go out on dates with new people and former flames to “test’’ whether they’re ready to make a lifetime commitment. This is recommended by their Christian life counselor. Really? Really. Doesn’t it seem like this might be something you’d want to figure out before you’ve ordered the flowers, the cake, and the ring? But Catherine and Evan clearly have one very important thing in common: the desire to be on reality television.

    Michael Feinstein’s American Songbook 9 p.m., Channel 2

The crooner tries to coax the legendary musicals songwriter Jerry Herman (“Mame,’’ “La Cage Aux Folles,’’ “Hello, Dolly!’’) into unveiling a previously unheard tune. Brassy Broadway babe Christine Ebersole also drops by for a visit.
