Tuesday, 9 p.m., Middlesex Lounge, 315 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge. 21+. Free. 617-821-2274, www.middlesexlounge.us.
The deal: Gallery returns to Middlesex on the second Tuesday of the month, bringing along Eli Goldstein of Soul Clap, the Boston-bred producer-DJ duo that’s attracted international attention. Goldstein, having recently returned to town after touring abroad, will join resident DJs in rocking this monthly dance party.
The DJs: Resident DJs Will Martin and Brenden Wesley, Gallery founder John Barera, and the guest of honor, Goldstein, a.k.a.
What you’ll hear: “We pride ourselves on our vinyl record collection,” says Wesley, DJ and promoter of the evening. “We’re very much into the whole scene of collecting and buying our own records and sharing them at our dance nights [which are] primarily focused in mid-to-late ’80s and early ’90s, Chicago house, Detroit techno, and underground disco.”
What to wear: Wesley advises that Gallery-goers choose outfits that are “casual, comfortable, hip, and stylish — yet something you can dance and move around and get sweaty in.”
The tip: DJs at Gallery strongly emphasize their careful music selection. “Be more of the mind of willing to listen and be educated, as opposed to treating the DJs like they’re a jukebox,” says Wesley.
