    Why We Laugh: Funny Women 8 p.m., Showtime

    This documentary looks at what it’s like for female comics in the male dominated stand-up comedy business. Among those featured: Whoopi Goldberg, Sandra Bernhard, Paula Poundstone, Rita Rudner, Kathy Najimy, Lily Tomlin, Kathy Griffin, and Tig Notaro. The movie is narrated and executive produced by Joan Rivers.

    Funeral Boss 10 p.m., DFH


    Morbid much? “Every person that enters these doors is precious cargo,” says Bill Harris, funeral director and star of this latest addition to the death-reality genre, alongside “Best Funeral Ever.” But can he get them to the church on time? The show follows Davis and his four children as they talk to the survivors, stage the funerals, and pretty up the bodies. Wonder how they got those people to sign off?
