Critic’s corner: What’s on TV this weekend

Robocroc 9 p.m., Syfy

Those who thought that the most bloodthirsty adversary Corin Nemec would ever face was Ms. Musso from “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose” have clearly not been paying attention to his recent filmography. Lately, Nemec is all about hunting down a whole menagerie of fake monsters — from 2005’s “Mansquito” (yeah) to 2008’s “The Sea Beast” (yup), 2012’s “Dragon Wasps” (as labeled), and 2013’s “Dracano” (a volcano that spits dragons) and “Poseidon Rex,” which almost cost him a leg after a real-life boat accident on set. In “Robocroc” (not to be confused with his 2009 film, “RoboDoc”), he . . . well, yeah. There are robotic crocodiles. “Not a problem!” as Parker might have said.

Saturday Night Live 11:30 p.m., NBC

The 39th season of the sketch staple doesn’t arrive until Sept. 28 — with Tina Fey hosting and hopefully some glimpses of rumored new cast members Noël Wells, Beck Bennett, John Milhiser, and Kyle Mooney. In the meantime, savor this gem of an episode with Justin Timberlake, worth it for the Moet & Chandon commercial alone: “It’s like nice champagne but some of it’s Sprite.”
