Critic’s corner: What’s on TV Thursday

Diane Bondareff/Invision for IFC/AP

Comedy Bang! Bang! 10:30 p.m., IFC

This show is a treat. It’s a sendup of talk shows, exposing the talk tropes in all their predictability and absurdity and fakeness. It’s Colbert-esque but also quite original. And host Scott Aukerman (right) brings in great guests, including Adam Scott, Sarah Silverman, Ed Helms, and Jenny Lewis, who recently sat in for band leader Reggie Watts (left). Thursday’s guests include Kate McKinnon and Kyle Mooney from “Saturday Night Live” and Nick Offerman.

It Takes a Church 9 p.m., GSN

“The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” this ain’t. Every week, a church congregation picks a date for one of its single members, interviewing the available contestants to find just the right one. Can you say “Ah men”? Not surprisingly, there are no group dates, hot tubs, or sexual activities in the bushes (that make it onto the show, in any case). Also not surprisingly, the website Christian Mingle is a corporate partner.
