Kendrick Lamar captured the Grammy stage with his rousing performance of songs from his 2015 album “To Pimp A Butterfly,” which won rap album of the year earlier in the ceremony. It’s also nominated for album of the year.

Lamar appeared on the stage in chains rapping “Blacker The Berry,” as his band and backup dancers performed in cages surrounding him.

Lamar then moved into “Alright,” which won best rap performance and best rap song before the show. Behind him, a bonfire burned on stage while the word “Compton” surrounded by an outline of Africa showed up above the stage.

Lamar received a standing ovation from the audience.

He also stopped the Internet cold.
