Ryan Murphy, the guy behind “Feud,” “American Crime Story,” and “American Horror Story,” is about to break a record. He is creating (with Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals) yet another series for FX, called “Pose,” and it will feature five transgender actors as series regulars. That’s more than any other scripted series.

“Pose” is set in the go-go 1980s in New York, specifically in the ball culture (see: “Paris Is Burning”) where voguing as we know it began. The trans performers are MJ Rodriguez (“Nurse Jackie,” “The Carrie Diaries”), model Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar (“Mr. Robot,” “Transparent”), Angelica Ross (“Transparent,” “Claws”), and model Indya Moore.

“We are thrilled that ‘Pose’ pushes the narrative forward by centering on the unique and under-told experiences of trans women and gay people of color,” said Canals in a statement. “Ryan has assembled a strong team of storytellers and innovators to collaborate on telling this important narrative. As a Bronx-bred queer writer of color, I’m honored to aid in ushering this groundbreaking show into homes.”

Also in “Pose”: Evan Peters, Tatiana Maslany, Kate Mara, and James Van Der Beek.
