Another season of ‘Curb’ is on the way

The ninth season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” was, for me, a bit of a disappointment. I loved the “Fatwa!” plot, and all the scenes with Lin-Manuel Miranda were tops. But some of the Larry material was predictable and lazy, as if Larry David was just doing a kind of cover version of his own shtick.

But despite my always correct opinion, HBO has decided to renew the series for a 10th season, with production beginning next spring. And the series just got a pair of Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, one for outstanding performance by a male actor in a comedy (for David) and one for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy.

In a statement, David said, “As I’ve said many times, when one has the opportunity to annoy someone, one should do so.”
