The latest Trump White House tome comes from . . . Omarosa
You know how you’re not reading Sean Spicer’s book? Well here’s another book not to add to the pile next to your bed.
On Aug. 14, Gallery Books is releasing “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House” by Omarosa Manigault Newman. In the memoir, the former “Apprentice” villain will dish her time working on the Trump campaign and then as the administration’s director of communications for the office of public liaison. Her tenure ended — she was fired and forcibly removed from the White House, or she resigned, depending on which story you believe — late last year.
During Trump’s campaign, Manigault Newman told “Frontline,” “Every critic, every detractor, will have to bow down to President Trump. It’s everyone who’s ever doubted Donald, who ever disagreed, who ever challenged him. It is the ultimate revenge to become the most powerful man in the universe.”
More recently, she has changed her tune, noting during her appearance on “Celebrity Big Brother” that she wouldn’t vote for Trump again: “God no. Never. Not in a million years, never.” In response, White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah said, “Omarosa was fired three times on ‘The Apprentice,’ and this was the fourth time we let her go. She had limited contact with the president while here. She has no contact now.”
Generally, books are announced many months ahead of release, but Gallery Books has only just announced “Unhinged,” perhaps hoping people will buy the book without thinking about it for too long. The company isn’t saying much about the contents of the book yet, except to call it “a stunning tell-all and takedown.”
